The Great Tennessee Air Show Presented by Nissan Announces 2019 Performer Lineup

 U.S. Navy Blue Angels to headline June 8 & 9 shows at Smyrna Airport

 

SMYRNA, Tenn. (April 11, 2019) -- The Great Tennessee Air Show, Presented by Nissan, announced today its world-class lineup of performers appearing Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 at Smyrna Airport in Rutherford County.

The U.S. Navy's top demonstration team, The Blue Angels, returns to headline this year's air show in their six iconic blue and gold F-18 Hornets for their only appearance in the Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Alabama region. 

 Representing the jet power of the U.S. Air Force, the show will also feature The F-16 Viper Demonstration Team followed by a Heritage Flight as a salute to past, present and future U.S. military service members.

National Aerobatic champions Mike Wiskus of Lucas Oil Air Shows, Patty Wagstaff and Rob Holland are set to perform. For the first time in Tennessee, Sean D. Tucker will be performing in Team Oracle's Two Ship Act with Jesse Panzer of the U.S. Advanced Aerobatic Team.

 The distinct rumble of World War II era engines will take to the skies with Scott "Scooter"  Yoak in his Quick Silver P-51 and the T-6 Texan demonstration team, The Geico Skytypers.

Additional acts include Adam Baker of Playful Airshows and a Search and Rescue (SAR) Demo by the U.S. Air Force. 

"Once again, we are privileged and honored to be hosting the U.S. Navy Blue Angels at this premier Middle Tennessee event," said John Black, Executive Director of the Smyrna/Rutherford County Airport Authority. "With this year's stellar lineup, the Great Tennessee Air Show is poised to present one of the strongest airshow lineups anywhere in North America."

Static military displays will include C-17, KC-10, E-6B Mercury, HC-130, E-2C Hawkeye, C-2 Greyhound, MH-60 Seahawk, US Coast Guard Search and Rescue 172 Plane and Response Boat and T-6A Texan II, among others. Featured civilian static displays include an authentically restored original 1937 American Airlines DC-3, Air Force T-28A, Navy T-28C and Eagleville Soaring Club Gliders.

A Kids Zone and other family-oriented entertainment will also be available for ticket holders.

The Great Tennessee Air Show Presented by Nissan is produced by The Air Show Network in partnership with Smyrna Regional Airport. General admission and premium tickets are available online only by visiting the Great Tennessee Air Show website. Tickets will not be sold on-site during show days.
